Detrás de esta realidad se esconde una falta de conocimientos y asesoramiento financiero, lo que te impide tomar acciones que te permitan avanzar y crecer.
Es por eso que hoy quiero hablarte acerca de 6 errores fatales que puedes estar cometiendo hoy en las finanzas de tu negocio y que puede que no te habías dado cuenta.
#1. Pretender que las ganancias del negocio son tu salario.
El tema de salario, suele ser un tema de confusión, me hacen preguntas como: ¿cuánto debe ser mi salario? ¿cómo me debo pagar? ¿qué porcentaje es el correcto?
La respuesta es que solo tú conoces cuánto necesitas para vivir, en todo caso, ya deberías tener un presupuesto escrito de base cero de tus finanzas personales, que es el que siempre recomiendo hacer. Y conociendo ese número apuntar a pagarte de la forma que consideres.
Ejemplos:
Si eres un fotógrafo profesional, debes pagarte como fotógrafo cuando cubres una sesión o evento y también como gerente o administrador del negocio.
Si eres un coach de negocio, págate lo que destines cada vez que te compran un paquete de servicios y págate como administrador o gerente.
Si tienes una tienda online de venta de accesorios y eres el que hace las ventas, el marketing, la administración y todo los demás, haz una lista de todas las tareas que realizas y págate un salario justo acorde a ello.
Y este monto entra dentro de tus costos fijos del negocio (presupuesto).
Aclarando el tema del salario…
Las ganancias netas son el resultado de restar todos los ingresos del negocio de los gastos totales. Recuerda que los gastos totales incluyen los costos fijos y los costos variables. En otras palabras, es lo que te queda de los ingresos luego que les restas todos los gastos, incluyendo los impuestos.
¿Qué haces con eso? Lo que quieras, desde ahorrar, invertir, terminar de crear tu fondo de emergencia, o simplemente repartirlo entre los socios si fuese el caso, o repartirlo entre varias cosas por porcentajes.
#2. Mezclar tus finanzas personales con las del negocio.
Me habrás escuchado decir o escribir en Blogs anteriores que las finanzas personales no debes mezclarlas con las de tu negocio. Y así es, ambas en la práctica tienen que ser trabajadas y administradas por separado.
Pero, cuando queremos mejorar nuestra relación con el dinero, el 80% de nuestras finanzas son manejadas por nuestras emociones (estas son las que hay que controlar y darle propósito). Nuestro emprendimiento va muy ligado con nuestras finanzas personales, porque una depende de la otra, y cómo manejemos nuestras finanzas personales afectarán positiva o negativamente nuestro negocio.
Te aseguro que cuando empieces a ordenar la casa, comenzarás a ver cambios en tu negocio. “La abundancia, ama el orden”.
Debes a esta altura tener claros temas como:
- ¿Cuentas con un fondo de emergencia de 6 meses de gastos mensuales?
- ¿Qué pasa si debes dejar de trabajar por algún incidente o una enfermedad?
- ¿Estás invirtiendo para tu retiro, si eres tú propio jefe, vas a depender de lo poquito que puede o no darte el seguro social de tu país?
- ¿Estás ahorrando para la educación superior de tus hijos?
- ¿Tienes deudas en estos momentos? ¿cuánto pagas en intereses todos los meses? ¿cuentas con un plan para salir de ellas?
No mezcles el dinero del negocio con el dinero que debes llevar a casa, cada uno debe tener su límite y cumplir con su propósito. Si sigues haciendo esto, tendrás un solo caos, no sabrás qué pertenece a qué, y será mil veces más difícil tomar decisiones financieras sabias.
Algo tan sencillo como tener cuentas separas, presupuestos separados y registros de todo lo que entra y sale del negocio será gran alivio.
#3. Endeudarte.
Que transformes tu economía requiere que uses las herramientas más poderosas que tengas, creo fervorosamente que la herramienta más poderosa que tienes para crear abundancia y riqueza es tu ingreso.
Al final del día es fácil tener abundancia, cuando no tienes pagos que hacer. La clave para ganar cualquier batalla, es identificar al enemigo. Aquí el enemigo principal que te está robando tu prosperidad es LA DEUDA.
MITO: LA DEUDA ES UNA HERRAMIENTA Y DEBE SER USADA PARA CREAR PROSPERIDAD.
VERDAD: LA DEUDA AÑADE UN RIESGO CONSIDERABLE QUE EN LA GRAN MAYORÍA DE LOS CASOS NO TRAE PROSPERIDAD, Y NO ES USADA POR PERSONAS ADINERADAS TANTO COMO PENSAMOS.
QUE TRABAJAMOS PARA PAGAR, NO PARA GANAR”.
Parte crucial de tener paz financiera en tu negocio es no tener deudas. Si llegaste hasta hoy valiéndote de deudas en tu emprendimiento, no te sientas mal, lo que sí quiero que hagas en primer lugar es tomar la decisión terminante de no recurrir más a endeudarte para escalar o invertir en tu negocio.
Debes tener como prioridad y urgencia, armar un plan para salir de todas las deudas. No tiene que ser perfecto, lo importante es ponerlo en práctica. Asegúrate de tener tu plan escrito y de seguirlo.
Todo lo que sea importante para ti debe tener un plan.
Ya me has escuchado decir que la deuda te roba de tus ingresos y que añade más riesgo a tus inversiones.
Lo que la sociedad estipula como normal (y quizás sientas que realmente es así) es que pedir prestado dinero te hará conseguir más dinero. Y esta no es la realidad.
#4. No hacer cierre de mes en el tiempo oportuno.
Es importante que hagas un informe de cómo fueron los resultados al cierre del mes. Tomando en cuenta datos como:
- Facturación de Ventas.
- Total de gastos (costos fijos + costos variables).
- Ganancias.
- Cualquier otro que consideres necesario en tu negocio…
He visto emprendedores, que, en marzo, están haciendo informes de cómo cerraron en enero, ¡No puede ser!
Te recomiendo hacer esto a tiempo, dentro los primeros días del mes siguiente, por ejemplo, si estás cerrando febrero, los primeros 5 días de marzo ya debes tener listo el informe de cierre de mes de febrero, esto te ayuda a trabajar con un presupuesto bien definido para el mes siguiente, en vez de trabajar reaccionando a lo que el negocio hizo hace dos meses atrás.
Queremos tener números relevantes, confiables, y actualizados para poder trabajar con presupuestos más realistas.
- Para aprovechar oportunidades de negocio que se presenten.
- Evaluar gastos por venir.
- Y para realmente tomar decisiones para el futuro con fundamento.
Espero que ya tengas bloqueado tiempo en tu calendario para revisar tus números al menos una vez por semana como mínimo.
¡Lo que no está en el calendario no se hace!
#5. No recopilar tus números.
Si llevas más de 6 meses o más en tu emprendimiento, hay información y data de tu negocio que me gustaría que recopilaras, para que la analices y sepas de dónde estás partiendo y así tener una idea clara de cómo están tus números hasta hoy.
El objetivo es que CONOZCAS algunos números importantes de tu negocio, para entender de DÓNDE estás partiendo y HACIA DÓNDE quieres ir.
- ¿Cuál fue tu nivel de ventas del último año?
- ¿Cuántos clientes tuviste?
- ¿Cuál es el precio promedio de tus productos o servicios?
- ¿Cuánto fue el total de tus costos fijos?
- ¿Cuánto fue el total de tus costos variables y/o de inversión?
- ¿Cuánto invertiste en marketing?
- ¿Cuánto te pagaste de salario en ese tiempo?
- ¿Cuál fue la ganancia neta del negocio?
- ¿Cuál fue tu producto o servicio más vendido? ¿El segundo más vendido? ¿El tercero?
- ¿Cuánto has pagado de impuestos
#6. Gastar más de lo que entra.
Aquí entra en juego el rol importante que tiene el presupuesto. El presupuesto es el plan que hacemos para el dinero cada mes, si no tienes algo por escrito antes de iniciar el mes, definiendo en qué se gastará y cuánto se gastará, lo más seguro es que terminarás gastando más dinero que el que entra.
Lo que comúnmente termina transformándose en una falta de flujo de efectivo y dé como resultado el recurrir a deuda (si no contamos con un fondo de emergencia del negocio).
¡Y no queremos esto! No queremos algo que nos ponga en más riesgo, ni que se lleve las ganancias que tanto nos cuesta conseguir.

Las finanzas son el problema de todos no sabemos como llevarlas, yo inicie llevando mis finanzas los primeros años, me asocie y no seguí llevandolas como antes y perdine el orden de todo mi socia no me acompañaba en eso, este año estoy sola nuevamente y pretendo mejorarlo.
